Abdur Rahman Khan Named Bangladesh’s World Bank Rep

-

The government is set to name Abdur Rahman Khan, who previously served as the National Board of Revenue (NBR) chairman, as the next executive director representing Bangladesh at the World Bank. An official from the Ministry of Finance disclosed that the Prime Minister’s Office has given the green light to his appointment. Currently, Sharifa Khan, the former senior secretary of the Economic Relations Division (ERD), holds the position. Following the cancellation of his predecessor Abu Hena Md Rahmatul Muneem’s contract, Abdur Rahman Khan was appointed as the NBR chairman under the interim government led by Dr. Muhammad Yunus in August 2024.
