“Former Dhaka Police Deputy Commissioner Reinstated by Govt”

-

The government has officially reinstated Md Kohinoor Mian, the former deputy commissioner (west) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), overturning a previous decision that had led to his dismissal from service. A recent gazette notification from the Ministry of Home Affairs announced the reversal of the earlier dismissal order against Kohinoor Mian in two departmental cases following a successful appeal process.

The notification highlighted that two criminal cases linked to the same accusations had already been resolved by the court. Subsequently, Kohinoor Mian had submitted a petition appealing the dismissal, which was carefully reviewed. Upon examination of the petition, the president of Bangladesh granted approval for the cancellation of the dismissal order issued on February 22, 2011.

The notification also clarified that the time during which Kohinoor Mian was dismissed will be considered as part of his service tenure. Additionally, he will receive all pending salaries, allowances, and benefits as per the applicable regulations. The gazette confirmed that the reinstatement order is effective immediately.
