BNP has revealed a plan for a two-day event to commemorate the Great Independence and National Day on March 26. The schedule was disclosed by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi during a press briefing at the party’s Nayapaltan central office today.
The agenda includes raising the national and party flags at all BNP offices in the morning. BNP leaders and supporters will visit the National Memorial in Savar to pay their respects, joining the president and prime minister. Later, they will move to Sher-e-Bangla Nagar to lay wreaths at the graves of party founder and former President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia. A doa mahfil will be held at the grave site by Jatiyatabadi Olama Dal.
On March 25, BNP plans to conduct a discussion session at the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh at 2:30 pm. Rizvi emphasized the significance of Independence and National Day in the nation’s history, highlighting Major Ziaur Rahman’s declaration of independence as a pivotal moment during the Liberation War that inspired people from all backgrounds.
BNP has already issued a commemorative poster for the occasion and will publish special supplements in national newspapers. Additionally, district and municipal units, along with related bodies, will arrange their own events.
Rizvi urged BNP leaders and supporters to ensure the success of the commemorations.
