A wellness event named “Wellness Festival @ GC 2026” was recently organized by The Flow Fest, in collaboration with Apex Footwear, at Gulshan Club in the capital on May 22 and 23, 2026. The festival aimed to address mental health challenges by bringing together cultural leaders, clinicians, and medical experts.
Participants engaged in a variety of activities such as zumba, meditation, self-defense training, yoga, and cardio to rejuvenate themselves. The event also featured sessions on burnout and balance, comedy, Salsa, community building, and a concert.
Renowned dancer and digital creator Ridy Sheikh led a dance session where participants of all ages joined in the choreography and enjoyed the lively music and dance beats. The festival focused on interactive sessions, enabling attendees to engage directly with wellness through activities, expression, and dialogue.
Shazia Omar, the founder of The Flow Fest, emphasized the event’s role as a platform bridging communities to shape a better Bangladesh. Dr. Ahmed Armaan Siddiqui, CEO of Shukhee, highlighted the urgent need for accessible mental health counseling services, pointing out that a significant number of people in the country face mental health challenges without proper support.
Discussions on topics like burnout, work-life balance, employee wellbeing, and women’s health shed light on crucial issues. Speakers emphasized the importance of creating a supportive environment for mental health and promoting overall wellness in society. The event also addressed concerns such as the lack of certified therapists in Dhaka and the stigma associated with seeking help for mental health.
Additionally, speakers touched on the significance of HPV vaccination in preventing cervical cancer and the need for postpartum care and childcare support for working mothers. The event received support from various partners, including United Healthcare, Medix, Incepta Pharma, and others, highlighting the collective effort towards promoting holistic wellness in the community.
