After being closed for a prolonged period due to a lack of films, Bogura’s contemporary cinema Modhuban Cineplex is preparing to reopen in anticipation of the approaching Eid festivities. The cinema intends to recommence its services by showcasing “Prince,” featuring Shakib Khan.
Officials of Modhuban Cineplex recently conveyed that the cinema, which ceased operations due to financial struggles, is now gearing up for a fresh beginning. By featuring “Prince” during Eid, they aim to rejuvenate the cinema and draw back movie enthusiasts.
Nonetheless, they acknowledge that relying solely on local film releases during the two Eid celebrations might pose challenges given the current state of the country’s film industry.
The owner of Modhuban Cineplex, RM Yunus Rubel, expressed, “We are optimistic about screening ‘Prince.’ We have high hopes from the new administration. Besides showcasing quality local films, if we do not receive consistent opportunities to import foreign movies, we may face setbacks.”
SM Yunus Rohan, the director of the cineplex, mentioned that they are relaunching operations while considering the welfare of their staff and the preferences of moviegoers. He confirmed that all arrangements are in progress to welcome cinema enthusiasts during Eid-ul-Fitr.
Previously converted into a community center due to sustained losses, the cinema has now ignited renewed enthusiasm among its employees and staff with the announcement of its reopening.
Shajahan, a longstanding employee of 50 years, shared that after a period of uncertainty, they are now hopeful about reclaiming their positions.
With Eid on the horizon, everyone involved is looking forward to leaving behind past losses and anticipating a festive ambiance once again gracing the Modhuban premises.
