The short film “The Silent Echo” has recently debuted on the video streaming platform Nowness Asia. Produced by Goopy Bagha Productions Limited, a Dhaka-based production house, the film is now accessible for viewers at no cost.
Co-produced across Bangladesh, India, Nepal, and France, this Nepali-language short film was helmed by Indian director Suman Sen. The narrative was collaboratively penned by Sen and Bijon Imtiaz.
The storyline of the film centers on four adolescent boys hailing from a secluded mountain village in Nepal. Goopy Bagha Productions Limited highlights that the film, finalized in 2021, has been exhibited in more than 20 nations, featured in over 80 international film festivals, and has secured 15 accolades.
Set in the remote Mustang region of Nepal, the plot unfolds around four boys who transform an abandoned bus into a practice space as they gear up for a musical competition. Despite facing diverse challenges, they persistently pursue their aspirations with unwavering resolve.
The ensemble cast comprises amateur actors raised in Lo Manthang, Mustang. These individuals were chosen through auditions involving nearly 100 youngsters from refugee camps and educational institutions near Pokhara.
