Rubio Urges Iran to Discuss Missile Program

-

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio emphasized the necessity for Iran to engage in discussions regarding its missile development program. His statement came following President Donald Trump’s claim that Iran was developing missiles capable of reaching the United States.

Rubio expressed concern over Iran’s reluctance to address the issue of ballistic missiles, labeling it a significant obstacle. He refrained from speculating whether the upcoming discussions in Geneva would play a decisive role in determining potential military action against Iran.

During his visit to Saint Kitts and Nevis, Rubio highlighted President Trump’s preference for diplomatic resolutions, stating, “The president is inclined towards diplomatic solutions and strongly favors them.”

Regarding the forthcoming talks, Rubio expressed hope for their productivity but stressed the importance of broader discussions beyond Iran’s nuclear activities. While addressing the possibility of a military strike on Iran, Rubio clarified that no decision had been made by the president, emphasizing the need for progress in the negotiations.
