“Pressure Cooker” Premiere Set for Eid-ul-Fitr

-

Raihan Rafi’s upcoming movie “Pressure Cooker” is scheduled to premiere during Eid-ul-Fitr on the big screen. Recently, the third poster of the film was revealed on Friday evening through social media by Rafi, who also announced that the film is dedicated to the late filmmaker Tareque Masud.

Inspired by Tareque Masud’s renowned creation “Matir Moyna,” the poster showcases the line: “Which Matir Moyna will sing the song of my liberation? A tribute to Tareque Masud.” Rafi emphasized that this line is pivotal to the film’s core theme. Reflecting on the dedication, Rafi expressed, “This film holds a special place in my heart as my debut production. Tareque Masud was a significant source of inspiration for me in the world of filmmaking, serving as a mentor figure. Hence, dedicating my first production to him felt wholly appropriate.”

Further adding insights, Rafi explained, “Each character in the movie embarks on a quest for liberation at some point in their lives, grappling with survival challenges. Consequently, this film resonates as a hymn of liberation for all. It transcends the boundaries of a typical art film or commercial venture, representing a hyperlink narrative where multiple storylines converge. Such narrative-rich productions are a rarity in our industry.”

The official poster prominently features four leading actresses—Shobnom Yesmin Bubly, Nazifa Tushi, Snigdha Chowdhury, and Mariya Hossain Mehnati—while notably excluding any male lead, indicating a focus on women-centric storytelling. The film is set to portray the unique journeys of these women as they navigate the complexities of urban life in Dhaka, encompassing social dilemmas and personal challenges.

“Pressure Cooker” is being produced under the banner of Impress Telefilm, with Faridur Reza Sagar and Raihan Rafi serving as producers.
