This triumph propelled Gujarat to the second spot in the Indian Premier League (IPL) standings while simultaneously ending Chennai’s hopes of making it to the playoffs. Chennai’s decision to field first after winning the toss backfired as the Gujarat openers, led by skipper Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan, constructed a solid partnership.
