Eastern Bank PLC (EBL) has announced a 28 percent dividend, which includes a 25 percent cash dividend for the year ending on December 31, 2025. The decision was made during the bank’s 34th annual general meeting (AGM) as per an official statement.
The meeting was presided over by Md Showkat Ali Chowdhury, the chairman of EBL. Among those attending the AGM were Anis Ahmed, Salina Ali, KJS Banu, Gazi Md Shakhawat Hossain, Mufakkharul Islam Khasru, Mahreen Nasir, Md Abdur Rahim, Khondkar Atique-e-Rabbani, and Masih Malik Chowdhury, who are directors of the bank. Shareholders from various parts of the country also participated in the meeting and supported all proposed agenda items.
Shareholders praised the board and management for EBL’s strong financial performance in 2025, robust corporate governance practices, and dedication to digital advancement. Despite global economic uncertainties and local challenges, shareholders expressed contentment with the bank’s performance, the dividend declaration, and EBL’s strategic efforts to ensure sustainable growth and long-term value creation.
Hassan O Rashid, the managing director of EBL, and Md Abdullah Al Mamun, the company secretary, were among the attendees, alongside external auditors, corporate governance auditors, independent scrutinisers, and other senior executives from the bank.
