“Bangladeshi Driver Makes History, Claims UAE Touring Car Title”

Bangladeshi driver Avik Anwar emerged victorious in the Renault Clio class at the Gulf Pro Car Championship Series 2025–26 and clinched the UAE Touring Car Champion title, making history as the first Bangladeshi to achieve this feat.

Anwar claimed the top spot in his category during Round 7, triumphing over 10 competitors in the Renault Clio division. His consistent performance throughout the season also secured him the overall championship victory.

With a total of 377 points, Anwar outperformed Maxim Volykin, who finished in second place with 207 points. The competition featured a diverse field of 40 racers from around the world.

The climactic race took place under wet conditions, where Anwar opted for slick tires, describing it as one of his most demanding performances of the season. Drivers hailing from various countries such as the UK, Ireland, Germany, India, France, Russia, Ukraine, Pakistan, Hong Kong, China, Italy, and Lebanon participated in the event.

Anwar expressed that the win represented a significant milestone for Bangladeshi motorsport, highlighting the country’s increasing presence on the global racing scene.
