A poignant tale inspired by the Liberation War and the essence of the Language Movement is ready to captivate TV viewers in the upcoming special drama called “Amar Bornomala.”
The narrative revolves around Wahab, the offspring of a freedom fighter. In 1971, during a clandestine assault, their residence was set ablaze by Razakars. In the midst of turmoil, Wahab’s father entrusted him with a book containing the Bengali alphabet, urging him tearfully to “safeguard my alphabet.”
Although the young lad managed to flee with the book in hand, his parents perished in the flames before his very eyes. Since that fateful incident, Wahab took it upon himself to uphold his father’s heritage by safeguarding and passing on “Amar Bornomala” to future generations.
Crafted and directed by Simanto Sajal, the drama stars performances by Tariq Anam Khan, Mousumi Hamid, and other talented actors.
As per the director, this special production is scheduled to broadcast on February 21 at 8 pm on Maasranga Television, coinciding with Shaheed Day and International Mother Language Day.
The drama intricately weaves together the sacrifices of the Liberation War with the enduring importance of the Bengali language, honoring the historical struggle that has molded the nation’s identity.
