Microsoft is set to discontinue its Outlook Lite app on May 26, ceasing support for the simplified email service introduced in 2022 for Android devices with limited storage capacity and slower internet connections. The decision to retire Outlook Lite was made public last year when Microsoft revealed its plan to delist the app from the Google Play Store in October 2025. Consequently, existing users will no longer be able to utilize the app starting next month.
According to a support document for Outlook Lite, Microsoft advised users to transition to its regular mobile application for a secure and feature-rich email experience. The company recommended moving to Outlook Mobile to ensure a seamless email service. Despite the discontinuation of Outlook Lite, current users can still access their emails, calendar entries, and attachments by logging in to Outlook Mobile. Additionally, users will be guided to the Google Play Store to install the standard Outlook app for continued email management.
