“PM Tarique Rahman Affirms BNP’s July Charter Commitment”

-

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, who also serves as the Chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), emphasized the party’s commitment to implementing the July Charter during a public gathering at Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University campus in Tangail. He cautioned against any attempts to impede the government’s public welfare initiatives, asserting that such efforts would be met with public resistance.

Rahman urged vigilance and highlighted the importance of being cautious in the face of potential challenges, alluding to past authoritarian regimes. He noted that BNP, entrusted by the people to govern the country, had promptly signed the July Charter along with other political entities, contrasting this with the hesitancy of opposition groups like Jamaat-e-Islami and the Nationalist Party (NCP) initially.

Stressing BNP’s unwavering commitment to the July Charter, Rahman declared that the party would uphold its obligations outlined in the agreement. He criticized those who had not endorsed the charter despite vocally advocating for its principles, questioning their sincerity.

Furthermore, Rahman underscored BNP’s proactive stance on reforms, citing the party’s early engagement in proposing comprehensive reform plans, starting in 2016 under Khaleda Zia’s leadership. He highlighted the alignment between BNP’s reform proposals and recommendations put forth by reform commissions during previous administrations, indicating a high level of consensus on key issues.

Regarding differences in opinions, Rahman emphasized the importance of resolving disagreements through dialogue and logical discourse within the framework of democratic principles. He reiterated the collective responsibility of the people to shape the future of Bangladesh, emphasizing the country as their sole homeland and urging unity in building a prosperous and desirable nation.

In conclusion, Rahman called for solidarity and collaboration to collectively elevate Bangladesh towards a brighter and more prosperous future.
