“Mexico Deploys 10,000 Troops After Drug Lord’s Death”

Mexico has mobilized 10,000 troops to address violent incidents following the death of the country’s most-wanted drug lord, which resulted in numerous casualties, as per officials’ announcement on Monday. Nemesio “El Mencho” Oseguera, the head of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, was injured in a confrontation with soldiers in Tapalpa, Jalisco state on Sunday, and passed away while being transported to Mexico City. The news of his demise led to outbreaks of violence, with cartel members obstructing roads in 20 states and setting fire to vehicles and establishments. In the operation targeting Oseguera and subsequent clashes, a total of 27 security personnel, 46 suspected criminals, and one civilian lost their lives. Additionally, a jailbreak in Jalisco occurred, resulting in 23 individuals escaping when their prison was assaulted by “criminal groups.”
