Amid the rising incidents of violence against women, domestic abuse, and cybercrime in Bangladesh, the voluntary organization Justice for Women Bangladesh was established in 2014. Formed by a group of socially conscious and compassionate individuals, the organization has since been providing free legal and psychological support to women, men, and families affected by various forms of abuse.
The organization operates a nationwide panel of legal professionals who offer regular legal assistance to vulnerable victims across the country. Additionally, its IT team provides rapid technical support to individuals facing cyber harassment on Facebook and other social media platforms.
Speaking about the organization’s mission, Junaed Ahmed Abir, General Secretary of Justice for Women Bangladesh, said, “Our goal is not merely to show empathy; we want every individual—women, men, and children—to live with the assurance that they have the right to justice. Anyone who faces abuse should know they are not alone.”
Over the past decade, the organization has supported thousands of women and families through legal advice, counselling, and social protection services. It also conducts regular awareness campaigns, seminars, and online workshops to educate the public on their rights and the avenues available for seeking help.
Beyond the country’s borders, expatriate Bangladeshi women are also receiving support through this platform. After a decade of work, Justice for Women Bangladesh has emerged as a trusted institution for justice and humanitarian assistance in the country.
