Police found the body of a 16-year-old student in a septic tank in Gobindaganj upazila, Gaibandha, today. The deceased, identified as Nurma Khatun, attended Taltala Dimukhi High School as a 10th-grade student and was the daughter of Nazrul Islam from Samaspara Choudhuripara village in Talukkanupur union.
According to the victim’s father, Nurma went missing from their home at noon. Despite searching various places, her body was eventually found inside an exposed septic tank at their neighbor Hazrat Ali’s residence later in the day.
Mozammel Haque, the officer-in-charge of Gobindaganj Police Station, confirmed the incident, stating that the police retrieved the body upon receiving information from locals. The body is now being readied to be transported to Gaibandha Sadar Hospital morgue for a post-mortem examination.
The OC mentioned that a case related to the occurrence is presently in progress.
