“Sinners,” a supernatural thriller, secured the Actor Award for its outstanding movie cast on Sunday, setting the stage for a potential showdown with “One Battle After Another” for the coveted Best Picture accolade at the upcoming Oscars. Delroy Lindo, along with his co-stars from “Sinners,” graciously accepted the Actor Award trophy in Los Angeles. The film, produced by Warner Bros, narrates the tale of two brothers establishing a juke joint in the racially segregated Southern United States, only to face a vampire. The storyline celebrates the essence of blues music and Black culture.
During the event, streamed live on Netflix, Lindo expressed his gratitude, stating, “Every single day we brought ourselves, we brought our hearts, we brought our souls, we brought our spirits to this endeavor. To be acknowledged by all of you, ‘thank you’ does not even begin to encompass the gratitude that we feel.”
