Love Island: All Stars has returned to our screens, bringing back familiar faces to the iconic villa.
Fans have been reunited with the likes of Gabby Allen, Marcel Somerville, Ekin-Su Culculoglu, Scott Thomas, and Curtis Pritchard, among others.
One constant across the various series is the Islanders’ habit of wearing sunglasses in bed first thing in the morning.
Former Love Island contestant Tasha Ghouri, who made history as the show’s first deaf contestant in 2022, shared some villa secrets in 2023, including the reason behind this peculiar habit.
Tasha, who recently finished as a runner-up on Strictly Come Dancing, revealed to OK! in 2023, that she was one of the few who didn’t wear sunglasses in the morning, but eventually got used to the bright lights, reports Wales Online.
“I was probably the only one who didn’t wear sunglasses in the morning, I got used to it!” She explained that the sudden bright lights could be quite startling for the Islanders: “It is bright because it is literally like ‘boom’ [lights come on] and even though you’ve got your eyes closed, your eyes just go light inside so everyone puts their sunglasses on.”
However, not all Islanders use the glasses solely for the light. “But people would sleep behind the glasses and the voice of God [villa voiceover] used to tell them off and be like: ‘We can see you’re sleeping behind the sunglasses!'”
It comes as Love Island’s Davide Sanclimenti has given a succinct five-word answer when questioned about the possibility of him returning to the famous villa.
The 30-year-old found fame after winning the celebrated ITV2 show in 2022 alongside now-ex Ekin-Su, who is also 30.
This week saw Ekin-Su surprise viewers by entering the Love Island spin-off All Stars, teaming up with Curtis Pritchard.
Speculations surged about Davide re-entering the scene as a bombshell contestant following Ekin-Su’s bold move. Despite fans’ anticipation, Davide appears to dismiss any prospects of featuring in Love Island: All Stars.
Uploading snapshots of his wintry retreat on Instagram, Davide wrote: “At peace in my happy place #cabinlife”. When prompted by a follower urging him to “Get back to the villa”, he responded: “I’m happy in the cabin!” along with some shrugging emojis.
An Instagram user reacted to Davide’s post saying: “Great choice choosing peace over drama no genuine entertainment without ya x”, which garnered a like from the former reality show star.
Love Island: All Stars continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
