Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s spouse, Zubaida Rahman, and their daughter, Zaima Rahman, participated in an iftar event with orphaned female students at a madrasa on the initial day of Ramadan. The event took place at Jamia Qurbaniya Talimia Dawra Hadith Women’s Madrasa and Orphanage in West Bhashantek, as reported by BNP Media Cell representative Shairul Kabir Khan. Tarique, who is the representative for the Dhaka-17 seat in parliament, has organized iftar, dinner, and sehri throughout Ramadan for 14 orphanages and Hafezia madrasas in Korail slum and Bhashantek through the local BNP unit. Prior to the iftar meal, Zubaida and Zaima engaged in conversations with the students to check on their welfare. Previously, the late BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and key party officials used to host an iftar gathering with orphans and Islamic scholars on the first day of Ramadan.
