Bangladeshi bowler Nahid Rana made a triumphant return home after contributing significantly to Peshawar Zalmi’s victory in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) final. The emerging fast bowler proved his worth by delivering an outstanding performance, securing two key wickets and conceding only 22 runs in four overs against Hyderabad Kingsmen.
Expressing his satisfaction, Nahid stated, “It feels fantastic to meet the team’s expectations.” Following a brief stay in Pakistan, he arrived back in Bangladesh alongside Zalmi captain Babar Azam and fellow bowler Khurram Shahzad, filled with confidence for the upcoming two-match Test series against Pakistan.
This marked Nahid’s debut in an international franchise league, where he excelled with nine wickets in five matches and an impressive economy rate of 5.44 runs per over. His recent exceptional form included being honored as the Player of the Tournament in Bangladesh’s ODI series versus New Zealand, solidifying his growing reputation. Buoyed by his success in the PSL, Nahid is now gearing up for fresh challenges.
Acknowledging the contrast between Test and T20 cricket, Nahid affirmed his commitment to maintaining his established approach. The first Test match is scheduled to take place at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on May 8.
