A man aged 39 was brutally murdered by suspected rivals in Fatullah, Narayanganj, shortly after his release on bail from jail, the police reported. The victim, identified as Md Emon, was a local electrician, according to his family members. The incident occurred at approximately 9:00 pm in the Masdair Gudara Ghat area, as stated by Abdul Mannan, the Officer-in-Charge of Fatullah Model Police Station.
The OC mentioned that the man was attacked and killed due to ongoing animosity related to drug matters with members of a rival group. Emon had been set free from prison only an hour and a half prior. He had been detained in connection with a drug-related offense and had been granted bail around 7:30 pm, as confirmed by both police officials and relatives.
Emon’s father, Omar Khaiyam, recounted that the assailants summoned Emon shortly after he reached home. Allegedly, his son had previous conflicts with various individuals who had falsely accused and handed him over to the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB). According to Omar, these same individuals lured Emon out and killed him. He further claimed that one of the attackers had been released on bail earlier on the same day.
Upon receiving the alert, OC Abdul Mannan and his team promptly responded to the incident. The body is scheduled to be transferred to Narayanganj General Hospital for a post-mortem examination. The police are actively working to identify and apprehend the perpetrators involved in the vicious attack, the OC added.
