Channel i is set to debut a new show called “I Folk Fever,” showcasing traditional folk songs performed by both legendary and emerging singers and artists. The program, consisting of 23 episodes, will be broadcast on Channel i. Renowned singer Sabina Yasmin recently wrapped up the recording of her episode at the Channel i studio, where she delighted viewers with renditions of five popular folk songs.
Reflecting on the experience, Sabina Yasmin emphasized the emotional connection people have with folk songs. She expressed her delight at the opportunity to sing a collection of folk tunes in a single program, stating, “I thoroughly enjoyed performing these five songs.” Sabina Yasmin extended her appreciation to Channel i for spearheading such an innovative venture and thanked Jahangir Sayeed for the invitation.
In addition to Sabina Yasmin, other notable singers have also contributed to the show. The lineup includes Rafiqul Alam, Khurshid Alam, Kanak Chapa, Ferdous Ara, Salma, Liza, Zhilik, and Nakul Kumar Biswas, among others.
Stakeholders involved in the program are optimistic that it will serve as a platform to promote Bangladeshi folk music and bridge the gap between younger audiences and the country’s cultural heritage.
