Most of the Australian team landed in Dhaka on Friday afternoon for their upcoming three-match ODI and T20I series against Bangladesh. The rest of the squad is expected to arrive in the capital later tonight.
The ODI series kicks off on June 9, with all games scheduled to take place at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur before moving to Chattogram for the T20I matches.
This tour signifies Australia’s return to ODI action in Bangladesh after a gap of 15 years. Their previous ODI series in Bangladesh was in 2011, where they clinched a 3-0 victory against a Bangladesh side led by Shakib Al Hasan.
Australia’s last visit to Bangladesh was in 2021, when the home team, under Mahmudullah Riyad’s captaincy, dominated with a 4-1 win in the five-match T20I series.
