At the age of 14, while most teenagers were balancing school and playtime, Musa had already formed a band with friends, thanks to the support and encouragement from her family. Attending underground concerts at 16, Musa was inspired by bands like Black and Nemesis, realizing her passion for performing on stage herself.
Despite finding academic studies easy, Musa found music to be a challenging pursuit, pushing herself to excel in the field. This determination led her to Berklee, where a ‘D’ grade in her first semester affirmed her path in music.
Introducing herself to fans through Berklee College of Music’s collaboration with A R Rahman in 2014, Musa later founded the Ghaashphoring Choir in 2015, gaining recognition with performances like “Chaina bhabish” and “Aha ki Anondo.” Their fame soared internationally with Coke Studio’s “Deora” in 2023.
Feeling a sense of monotony in her music journey, Musa decided to explore acting, training under Syed Jamil Ahmed at the Spardha Academy of Performing Arts in 2023. Her performance in the stage adaptation of “Ami Birangona Bolchhi” showcased her versatility and dedication to her craft.
Acknowledging the challenges of a creative career, Musa emphasizes the unpredictability and lack of steady income in the industry. Despite the hardships, she finds solace in the artistic community’s supportive and compassionate nature.
Embracing a diverse musical identity, Musa is now incorporating Bangla, Urdu, Tamil, Braj Bhasha, Hindi, and Punjabi music into her performances, aiming to transcend cultural boundaries and connect with audiences on a deeper level.
Through her artistic journey, Musa continues to seek moments of magic and inspiration, believing that the fleeting instances of creative fulfillment make the struggles worthwhile.
