Apple has made a strategic move by acquiring MotionVFX, a company based in Poland that specializes in creating plug-ins, templates, and visual effects tools for Final Cut Pro, Apple’s video editing software. MotionVFX, established in 2009, provides subscription packages starting at $29 per month, granting access to high-quality editing tools, graphics, and templates. The financial details of the acquisition have not been disclosed by either party.
MotionVFX expressed its excitement about joining the Apple team on its official website, emphasizing its commitment to empowering creators and editors to excel in their work. The company also expressed gratitude towards its customers and supporters for their role in shaping its products over the past 15 years.
This acquisition is seen as a strategic move by Apple to enhance its competitiveness against Adobe Premiere Pro and the wider Adobe Creative Cloud suite. By integrating MotionVFX’s capabilities directly into its offerings, Apple aims to attract more subscribers to its recently launched Creator Studio bundle.
The Creator Studio, introduced in January, bundles creative apps such as Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, Pixelmator Pro, Motion, Compressor, and MainStage into a subscription priced at $12.99 per month or $129 per year. Additionally, it offers premium content for Keynote, Pages, and Numbers.
