Alia Bhatt Shines at BAFTA Awards with Traditional Indian Style

-

Alia Bhatt made her debut at the prestigious BAFTA Awards, adding a touch of traditional Indian style to the 79th British Academy Film Awards held at London’s Royal Festival Hall on February 23. The actress graced the red carpet in a unique Gucci gown that showcased a sculpted silhouette and a high neckline, evoking the timeless glamour of Marilyn Monroe with a striking white fur stole.

During her time on stage as a presenter, Bhatt greeted the audience with a warm “Namaskar” in Hindi before seamlessly transitioning to English to convey her message. She introduced the upcoming award category by stating, “Hello! The next award is for a film that is not in the English language,” ensuring the audience understood her words without the need for subtitles. Emphasizing the universal language of cinema, she highlighted the diverse voices that films bring together, setting the stage for the announcement of the nominees.

The category for Best Film Not in the English Language featured notable films such as “It Was Just an Accident”, “The Secret Agent”, “Sentimental Value”, “Sirāt”, and “The Voice of Hind Rajab”. Ultimately, the award went to “Sentimental Value”, creating a memorable moment in the course of the event.
