“Venezuelans Pardoned for Opposing Regime”

-

A significant number of Venezuelans who were charged or imprisoned for opposing the socialist regime have been pardoned under a new law implemented during the transition after Nicolas Maduro’s presidency, as confirmed by the country’s legislative body on Tuesday.

Jorge Arreaza, who leads the legislative committee responsible for overseeing the implementation of the amnesty, reported that 179 detainees had been released from custody following the law’s enactment last Thursday.

In addition, he mentioned that 3,050 individuals who were previously on parole had also been acquitted of all allegations.

Expressing his enthusiasm, he described the progress as remarkable and emphasized the importance of delivering justice to achieve peace in the South American nation.
