“Prime Bank & Khulna University Promote Financial Literacy”

Prime Bank PLC, in partnership with the Khulna University Career Club, recently hosted an event titled “Financial Inclusion: Engaging & Inspiring Youth in Banking” at Khulna University as part of the PrimeAcademia initiative. The seminar aimed to provide students with practical knowledge about banking, financial literacy, and money management. Topics discussed included financial inclusion, responsible money management, making informed financial decisions, cultivating saving habits, and career planning.

Prof Md Rezaul Karim, the vice-chancellor of Khulna University, inaugurated the event as the chief guest. He emphasized the opportunities brought about by advancements in information technology and encouraged students to leverage these opportunities for higher education, research, and career growth. Prof Karim commended the efforts of the university’s Career Club and Prime Bank for organizing the seminar.

MM Mahbub Hasan, senior vice-president and head of financial inclusion and school banking at Prime Bank, delivered the keynote address on financial literacy and intelligent money management. He discussed the importance of cultivating healthy financial habits, maintaining a balance between income and expenses, regular savings, making informed financial choices, and practicing long-term financial discipline. Hasan introduced his “Grandfather Concept of Personal Money Management” and highlighted Prime Bank’s 31-year journey, as well as the changing expectations and prospects for young individuals in the banking sector.

Prof Md Salauddin, the director of student affairs at the university, attended the event as a special guest. He underscored the necessity for more customer-friendly and effective initiatives in the banking industry, stating that such programs can enhance students’ understanding of the workplace and financial sector as they prepare for their careers.

Monowara Khatun, vice-president and head of talent acquisition and OD at the bank; Mostafa Mahmud, vice-president and regional head (south); and Ruhul Amin Munna, president of the Khulna University Career Club, along with other representatives from both organizations, were also in attendance.
