Australia’s preparations for the upcoming ODI series against Pakistan have hit a snag as Mitchell Marsh has been sidelined due to an ankle injury. With Marsh unavailable, wicketkeeper-batter Josh Inglis will lead the Australian team in the three-match series set to kick off on May 30 in Pakistan.
Marsh, who showcased impressive form during the recent Indian Premier League season by scoring 563 runs in 13 matches at a strike rate of 163.18, will undergo further evaluation and treatment in Perth.
After their Pakistan tour, Australia is scheduled to head to Bangladesh for a white-ball tour comprising ODIs and T20Is, with Marsh’s participation in that series still uncertain.
Marsh joins the list of prominent Australian players missing from the upcoming series, including the pace trio of Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, and Mitchell Starc.
The Australia squad for the Pakistan ODIs includes: Josh Inglis (c), Alex Carey, Nathan Ellis, Cameron Green, Matthew Kuhnemann, Marnus Labuschagne, Riley Meredith, Oliver Peake, Matthew Renshaw, Tanveer Sangha, Liam Scott, Matt Short, Billy Stanlake, and Adam Zampa.
The schedule for the Pakistan series is as follows:
– First ODI: May 30, Rawalpindi
– Second ODI: June 2, Lahore
– Third ODI: June 4, Lahore
