“God of War Live-Action Image Sparks Outrage”

-

The initial official image from the upcoming live-action version of the popular game “God of War” has stirred up a surge of disapproval online, drawing criticism even from the original game’s creator. David Jaffe, the video game designer behind the iconic “God of War,” expressed strong disapproval of the promotional image unveiled by Amazon Prime Video. Jaffe, in a YouTube video, labeled the image as “awful” and criticized the portrayal of the character Kratos as “ridiculous.”

The image depicts Kratos, played by Ryan Hurst, standing in a forest observing his son Atreus, portrayed by Callum Vinson, practicing archery. However, numerous fans felt that the depiction failed to capture the intense and powerful essence that characterizes the games. Jaffe remarked that the characters in the image lacked interest and appeal, humorously comparing it to a “Dumb and Dumber edition” rather than a serious adaptation.

In response to the negative feedback, Hurst advised fans not to judge the series solely based on one image. Nevertheless, Jaffe dismissed this statement, questioning the platform’s decision to release the photo if it did not accurately represent the show.
