The highly-anticipated Eid-ul-Fitr movie “Domm” has revealed its first glimpse, showcasing a suspenseful storyline filled with mystery and survival. Unveiled on social media at 1:00pm on March 8, the 54-second teaser introduces Afran Nisho, Chanchal Chowdhury, and Puja Chery in a captivating setting of a mountainous landscape at sunrise. The serene visuals quickly transform into a tense atmosphere, hinting at imminent danger and intrigue. The teaser, accompanied by a compelling background score and fleeting scenes from the film, has sparked discussions and curiosity among online viewers.
Throughout the teaser, Afran Nisho portrays a character appearing exhausted, fragile, and anxious, while Puja Chery’s expressions convey uncertainty and fear. Chanchal Chowdhury’s reactions also display shock and alarm, prompting questions about the characters’ roles in a narrative of flight, pursuit, and survival.
The teaser includes a single impactful line delivered by Afran Nisho towards the end: “Ami Shahjahan Islam Noor, Bangladeshi Muslim, mone raikh.” This brief dialogue has further heightened the anticipation surrounding the movie.
Director Redoan Rony stated that the film now belongs to the audience, expressing optimism that it will meet their expectations. He emphasized that the teaser offers only a glimpse of the story and highlighted that the film was shot in remote locations rarely seen in Bangladeshi cinema.
In “Domm,” Afran Nisho embodies the character Shahjahan Islam Noor, describing it as a survival tale with profound emotional undertones, requiring courage and teamwork to bring to fruition. Puja Chery portrays Rani, a character she described as determined and complex. The actress indicated that the teaser merely teases the character’s role, with her full impact on Noor’s journey unfolding in the movie.
“Domm” is a production of SVF Alpha-i and Chorki, based on true events and developed over nearly two and a half years. Shahriar Shakil, the managing director of SVF Alpha-i Entertainment, highlighted the film’s aim to redefine Bangla cinema boundaries and present fresh visuals to local audiences. With the tagline “Until the Last Breath,” “Domm” is scheduled for release during Eid-ul-Fitr. The screenplay was crafted by Redoan Rony in collaboration with Syed Ahmed Shawki, Al-Amin Hasan Nirjhar, Md Saifullah Riyad, and Rabiul Alam Robi.
