OTT platform Chorki is gearing up to launch its latest original series, “Cactus,” during Eid-ul-Fitr. The series has recently completed filming, and its teaser was revealed today, generating excitement and discussions among viewers.
Starring popular musician and actor Pritom Hasan and actor Mehazabien Chowdhury in the lead roles, the series is helmed by director Shihab Shaheen.
The release of the teaser sparked positive reactions from viewers online, who lauded both the platform’s content and the performances of the lead actors.
In “Cactus,” Pritom Hasan takes on the role of Manasiv, a skilled hacker. The teaser hints at his character’s imprisonment and his return to hacking under specific circumstances. His hacking skills become pivotal in addressing a national crisis with government backing.
Pritom Hasan mentioned that his character undergoes significant transformations during the narrative. “I prefer not to give away too much, but the character evolves throughout the series. I hope the audience will journey with me,” he expressed.
Mehazabien Chowdhury portrays Anura, a character who crosses paths with Manasiv during a mission. The teaser showcases her in a new light, featuring action sequences and a heightened on-screen presence.
Describing her role as captivating, Mehazabien shared that the series allowed her to acquire new skills, particularly in action. “I had never delved into action scenes at this level before,” she remarked, commending action director Edward Gomez and his team.
Director Shihab Shaheen highlighted that “Cactus” combines elements of technology, thriller, and action to deliver a unique viewing experience. He noted that the narrative primarily revolves around Manasiv, with Anura’s character introducing a fresh dynamic.
The script for “Cactus” was crafted by Shihab Shaheen, Al-Amin Hasan Nirjhor, Ador Rahman, Asaduzzaman Abir, and Rezwan Kabir, with Shaheen also serving as the screenwriter. The ensemble cast includes Munira Yusuf Memi, Manas Bandyopadhyay, Naziba Basher, Salauddin Lavlu, Shahadat Hossain, Arifin Jilani, Zahidul Haque Apu, and Sanzida Tasnim. Edward Gomez oversaw the action direction.
