Bangladeshi Luxury Brand Zurhem Takes Global Fashion Stage

-

Bangladeshi men’s fashion is making strides beyond local borders, with luxury brand Zurhem making a significant mark in this progression. Renowned Pakistani actor and singer, Ahad Raza Mir, showcased two custom looks by the Dhaka-based label during his recent visit to Australia for events supporting the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust’s cancer fundraising campaign.

This appearance highlights the increasing influence of South Asian fashion on a global scale, showcasing Bangladeshi tailoring in a contemporary and elegant manner. The evolution of the South Asian menswear market is evident in the emphasis on precision and craftsmanship, moving away from extravagant displays towards refined sophistication. Brands like Zurhem embody this shift, emphasizing subtle yet impactful designs that resonate internationally.

Zurhem’s collaboration with Mir featured two impeccably tailored suits that epitomize the brand’s aesthetic – minimalistic, sophisticated, and self-assured. The first look included a dark brown superfine wool suit paired with a black T-shirt, blending formal elegance with modern comfort. The second outfit was a navy pinstriped superwool suit, similarly styled with a black T-shirt, offering a contemporary twist on classic menswear silhouettes.

Curated by celebrity stylist Ozan Khan, who also serves as the Editorial Content Director at Sunday Times Pakistan, the selection of Zurhem underscores the growing popularity of South Asian labels that prioritize quality craftsmanship and timeless elegance over extravagant trends.

Led by Creative Director Mehruz Munir, Zurhem continues to establish itself as a brand known for precision and enduring design, transcending the boundaries of Bangladesh’s fashion industry. Chairman Saadat Chowdhury views this international recognition as a pivotal shift in perspective, emphasizing the brand’s craftsmanship and quality on a global scale.

Chowdhury expressed, “Our success in cities like Dubai, London, and Paris, as well as being a favored choice at the Cannes Film Festival, reflects the global appreciation for our work. Collaborations with influencers and celebrities further validate our belief in the quality and craftsmanship that we bring to the table. It’s essential for us to recognize our own worth first before expecting others to do the same.”

This milestone signifies a new chapter for South Asian fashion, where tailored menswear from Bangladesh can command attention on the global stage, showcasing the country’s evolving presence in the international fashion landscape.
