Bangladesh Condemns Indian Media’s Interviews with Sheikh Hasina

-

Bangladesh expressed dissatisfaction with the recent interviews of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina conducted by Indian media organizations. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dhaka formally communicated this displeasure to New Delhi by summoning Indian Deputy High Commissioner Pawan Badhe. According to a high-ranking official at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, officials emphasized that providing a platform for a fugitive facing charges of crimes against humanity to propagate hatred and support terrorist activities within Bangladesh could harm the positive bilateral relationship between the two countries. A diplomatic source mentioned that the Indian diplomat was requested to relay Bangladesh’s call to cease providing media access to Hasina. Apart from Indian media, Hasina was also interviewed by AFP, Reuters, and The Independent (UK) recently.
