Bangladesh has moved up to the eighth position in the most recent ICC Men’s T20I Team Rankings update, while India remains at the top spot due to their consistent performance in the T20 format. The rankings now consider all matches played since May 2025 at full value while matches from the previous two years are weighted at 50 percent.
India leads the rankings with 275 points, closely followed by England with 262 points and Australia in third place with 258 points. Bangladesh’s rise in the rankings comes as no surprise, given their strong performance in the T20 format over the past two years. They have won the Men’s T20 World Cups in 2024 and 2026 and remained unbeaten in all T20I series during this period.
The top seven positions in the Men’s Rankings remain unchanged, with New Zealand, South Africa, Pakistan, and West Indies following India, England, and Australia. Sri Lanka dropped in the rankings by six points, moving them to the ninth position, while Bangladesh gained one point to secure the eighth spot. Afghanistan is just one point behind Sri Lanka in 10th place, with Zimbabwe and Ireland maintaining their positions in 11th and 12th place, respectively.
The USA, a growing force in cricket in North America, advanced two spots in the rankings after gaining six points, placing them at 13th position. They surpassed Netherlands and Scotland, who are now at 14th and 15th place. Namibia remains at 16th place, while Nepal and Oman moved up one spot each to 17th and 19th place, overtaking UAE and Canada in the process.
Italy, making their T20 World Cup debut, gained 11 points and climbed three positions to 23rd place. The European team impressed with a resounding 10-wicket victory over Nepal in their first appearance at the T20 World Cup.
The number of teams in the rankings has decreased from 102 to 98, as Fiji, Gambia, Greece, and Israel did not qualify due to not playing the required eight T20Is in the past three years.
