The Business Incubation Centre of the Faculty of Business Administration at American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) and 3Leaf Technologies Ltd have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to research the operations, technology use, service improvements and potential business opportunities surrounding the third terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

Under the agreement, the two organisations will conduct research and evidence-based assessments of airport operations, supporting infrastructure, technology-driven services, management practices and potential business opportunities.

Representing AIUB at the signing ceremony were Professor Dr Anwar Hossain, dean-in-charge of the Faculty of Business Administration; Dr Mustafa Hasan, director-in-charge of the FBA Business Incubation Centre; and Dr Mohammad Kamrul Hasan, associate professor in the Department of Finance.

Representing 3Leaf Technologies Ltd were Md Tazul Islam (Rumel), managing director and cybersecurity specialist; Md Shafayet Bin Abdullah, director of Technologies and Security and a former director of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport; and Mizanur Rahman Sohel, director of Media and Public Relations at the company and chief executive officer of Times PR.

The discussions focused on research-based planning to improve airport services, increase operational efficiency, adopt modern technologies and develop supporting infrastructure. The participants also discussed cooperation in assessing the feasibility of ancillary services and identifying new business opportunities linked to the terminal.

The partnership aims to combine AIUB’s academic and research capabilities with 3Leaf Technologies’ technical expertise and industry experience. It will provide a basis for knowledge exchange, applied research and the exploration of solutions to operational challenges in airport infrastructure.

Representatives of both organisations expressed interest in establishing a framework for cooperation to support evidence-based decision-making, improve operational efficiency and identify opportunities for long-term development in civil aviation and infrastructure.

The MoU will serve as an initial framework for future cooperation, operational research and joint assessments. However, any specific project, commercial agreement or implementation initiative will be subject to further evaluation, mutual agreement and approval from the relevant institutional and regulatory authorities.
