Huron Nahar Rashid, the mother of Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam Rita MP and the late founder chairman of Monno Group Harunar Rashid Khan Monno, has passed away at the age of 83. She took her last breath at 6:00 am today at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka after a prolonged battle with various health issues.
Survived by two daughters, Afroza Khanam Rita MP and Parveen Begum, as well as three grandchildren, two sons-in-law, siblings, and numerous other relatives and well-wishers, Huron Nahar’s demise has left a deep void in the hearts of many.
The funeral prayer, namaz-e-janaza, will be conducted today at the Monno Medical College ground in Monno City, Manikganj, following the Asr prayer. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, a former legislator and minister, in the family burial ground.
The passing of Huron Nahar has brought a wave of sorrow over Manikganj. Leaders from different political factions, local Members of Parliament, district and upazila officials, media personnel, Monno Group employees, and various dignitaries have gathered at Monno City to offer their condolences and pay their respects.
