Ulkasemi VLSI Training Institute (UVTI) recently launched specialized training programs to equip engineers for careers in semiconductor and VLSI design. The curriculum at UVTI is tailored to meet industry demands, emphasizing practical training in various areas such as register transfer level (RTL) design, design verification, physical design (place and route), digital and analog layout, and design for testability (DFT).
The training programs at UVTI focus heavily on hands-on utilization of industry-standard electronic design automation (EDA) tools, with 80 to 90 percent of the coursework dedicated to practical application. Taught by experienced professionals, most courses span approximately three months, with classes conducted five days a week totaling about 240 instructional hours, and some specialized programs extending to 480 hours.
Currently, UVTI offers courses in IC mask design and IC physical design, with the capacity to accommodate up to 150 students concurrently. Upon successful completion of the training, participants receive certification, as highlighted in the press release from the institute.
