Three US military aircraft were mistakenly downed by Kuwait air defenses late on Sunday night, as confirmed by the US Central Command. The incident occurred during active combat operations, including Iranian assaults.
The US Central Command stated on Monday that three US F-15E Strike Eagles supporting Operation Epic Fury were shot down over Kuwait in a friendly fire incident. Amid the ongoing combat, which involved Iranian aircraft, ballistic missiles, and drones, the US Air Force jets were unintentionally targeted by Kuwaiti air defenses. Fortunately, all six crew members ejected safely.
In an official statement, CENTCOM expressed gratitude towards Kuwait for acknowledging the incident and praised the Kuwaiti defense forces for their assistance during the operation.
The Ministry of Defense spokesperson confirmed the incident, emphasizing the safe evacuation and medical evaluation of the entire crew. The search and rescue efforts were promptly initiated following the aircraft’s downing.
