“Death Toll Rises to 108 in School Attack Blamed on US, Israel”

-

The Iranian Red Crescent reported an increase in the death toll to 108 following an attack on a school in the southern part of the country over the weekend, attributed to the US and Israel. A spokesperson for the organization mentioned that operations for relief and clearing debris are still ongoing at Minab School.

Verification of the incident and the toll remained inaccessible to AFP at the location. Israeli military representatives did not provide immediate comments when contacted by AFP. Similarly, the Pentagon did not respond promptly to requests for comments. However, a CENTCOM spokesperson, as cited by The New York Times, stated they are investigating reports of civilian casualties resulting from ongoing military actions, emphasizing the importance of protecting civilians and taking all necessary precautions to minimize unintended harm.

Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian condemned the attack, labeling it a barbaric act and adding to the list of crimes committed by the aggressors. The US and Israel conducted a series of strikes against Iran on Saturday morning. The Iranian Red Crescent disclosed that by the evening, the death toll had risen to at least 201 individuals, with 747 others injured in the assaults.
