“TikTok Removes 15 Million Videos in Bangladesh”

-

TikTok took down more than 15 million videos in Bangladesh in the last quarter of 2025, as revealed in its recent Community Guidelines Enforcement Report. The report, which spans from October to December 2025, disclosed that 15,392,129 videos were removed in Bangladesh for breaching the platform’s regulations. Most of these removals were proactive, occurring before user reports. Of the videos flagged by automated systems, 98.4 percent were deleted within 24 hours of posting.

On a global scale, TikTok eliminated 175,302,085 videos during the same quarter, accounting for about 0.5 percent of all content uploaded on the platform. Among these, over 152 million were detected using automated technology. Nonetheless, 8,360,780 videos were reinstated after further evaluation, indicating the ongoing challenge of balancing speed and accuracy.

The press release also stated that TikTok eradicated more than 147 million fake accounts and nearly 24 million accounts suspected of belonging to users under 13 years old in the quarter. In terms of content categories, the report highlighted that 21.2 percent of removed videos contained themes that were sensitive or mature and did not adhere to platform policies. Additionally, 9.1 percent violated safety and civility rules, while smaller percentages were associated with privacy breaches (1.2%), misinformation (1.6%), and manipulated or AI-generated content (1.8%).
