Popular rock group Ashes is gearing up to surprise fans this Eid by dropping two new albums simultaneously — “Bibhrom” and “Danahin Pakhi”. The first album, “Bibhrom”, will contain nine tracks while “Danahin Pakhi” will feature eight songs. The band plans to reveal one song from each album on Chand Raat, with the remaining tracks set for a weekly release thereafter.
The songs in these albums are a culmination of the band’s work over the past eight to ten years, with some tracks previously performed at live events but never officially released. In addition to the albums, Ashes will also launch a new track from a separate special project.
Lead vocalist Junaed Evan expressed that the albums showcase extensive experimentation in both sound and concept. The underlying theme of the songs revolves around the idea of finding joy beyond material possessions, emphasizing simple moments such as observing the sky, relishing rain or moonlight, and fostering genuine human connections. The lyrics delve into existential reflections and inner conflicts.
Innovative promotional strategies are in the pipeline for Ashes, including district tours post-Eid featuring songs from the new albums and exclusive listening gatherings in scenic locations. Selected fans will receive invites to these intimate events where they can not only sing along but also learn the stories behind each song, with specific details being kept confidential to maintain the element of surprise.
Recently, Ashes initiated a humanitarian project called “Manusher Jonno” (For Humanity), aiming to donate all earnings from a 10-song album to assist patients battling severe illnesses like cancer, kidney ailments, and paralysis. None of the band members will receive compensation from this charitable endeavor.
In the midst of releasing the Eid albums, Ashes will present a new track as part of the “Manusher Jonno” campaign. Evan highlighted the band’s history of supporting individuals in medical crises through blood drives and financial aid, underscoring the need for a structured initiative like “Manusher Jonno” to extend help to a larger audience. The project aims to foster emotional connections between listeners and the challenges faced by patients, encouraging wider community support.
