Filmmaker Tanvir Mokammel has officially started filming the movie “Shojon Badiar Ghat,” which is inspired by the renowned poetic creation of Polli Kobi Jasimuddin. While the project was announced previously, the filming has now commenced in Satpar village located in Gopalganj.
The narrative of “Shojon Badiar Ghat” unfolds in Shimultoli village by the Madhumati River, where two distinct communities, Muslim and Hindu, peacefully coexist. Despite religious differences, a strong sense of camaraderie binds them together, creating a unified village akin to an extended family.
The protagonists of the tale are Shojon and Duli, two youngsters from diverse religious backgrounds. Initially childhood friends, their bond evolves into a poignant tale of separation and grief as conflicts arise in the village, impacting Shojon and Duli profoundly. Jasimuddin eloquently narrated this emotional story in his timeless verse.
In the movie, the character of Shojon is portrayed by Tanay Biswas, with Dihan depicting his younger self. The ensemble cast also features Radifa Narmine, Shreya Baidya, Chitralekha Guha, Kazi Raju, Amitabh Rajib, Zubayer Zahid, Ahsanul Haque Minu, Swapna Baidya, Shah Alam Dulal, and Rezaul Karim Reza, among others.
As per the information from the director’s production company, Kino-Eye Films, the shooting for the feature film based on Jasimuddin’s iconic poetic creation is progressing smoothly. The proficient team, including the cinematographer, art director, and assistant directors, is diligently working behind the scenes to recreate the rural ambiance of Bengal, vividly portraying a moving narrative of love, sorrow, and human connections.
