“Indian, Chinese Envoys Extend Invitations to Bangladesh FM”

India and China have extended official visit invitations to Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman, with the envoys of both countries presenting the invitations during separate meetings at the foreign ministry of Bangladesh. Indian High Commissioner Pranay Verma conveyed an invitation from Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar for Khalilur to visit New Delhi promptly. Similarly, Chinese Ambassador Yao Wen offered an invitation for Khalilur to visit China at a suitable time.

The envoys praised Prime Minister Tarique Rahman for the Bangladesh Nationalist Party’s strong performance in the recent general elections, which they described as transparent and fair. Additionally, they congratulated Khalilur on assuming his role as foreign minister. The Chinese ambassador affirmed China’s firm support for PM Tarique Rahman’s ‘Bangladesh First’ policy and highlighted the intention of the Chinese premier to bolster bilateral cooperation with Bangladesh.

During the discussions, Khalilur emphasized the significance of advancing the Bangladesh-China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership. He also urged increased Chinese involvement with relevant parties to facilitate the swift repatriation of Rohingya refugees. The Indian high commissioner assured his government’s commitment to collaborating closely with Bangladesh’s new administration to enhance bilateral ties.
