Apple has recently revealed that it has appointed Lilian Rincon, a former Google executive, as its new vice president of product marketing for artificial intelligence. Rincon, who has a background of almost ten years at Google managing its shopping and assistant products, will be reporting to Greg Joswiak, Apple’s marketing head. Prior to her stint at Google, she held roles at Microsoft and Skype.
This move by Apple comes ahead of the planned launch of an upgraded version of its virtual assistant Siri later this year, which will incorporate technology from Google’s Gemini AI model. The company is said to be reorganizing its AI divisions to better meet market demands and stay competitive in the industry.
