Mutual Trust Bank PLC (MTB) has announced the promotion of Mohammad Mamun Faruk to the role of deputy managing director (DMD). Mamun will now also head the Wholesale Banking Division (WBD) concurrently, as per a recent press release.
Prior to this advancement, Mamun held various leadership roles within the organization. His commitment, leadership skills, and business expertise have significantly contributed to enhancing the bank’s corporate and wholesale banking operations.
Currently serving as the head of the Wholesale Banking Division at MTB, Mamun is responsible for overseeing the bank’s wholesale banking activities, corporate connections, and strategic growth strategies.
With over 26 years of experience in the financial sector, Mamun started his banking career at City Bank PLC in December 1999 as a probationary officer before joining Mutual Trust Bank PLC in 2010. Throughout his professional journey, he has garnered extensive expertise in branch banking, trade operations, and relationship management.
Having specialized in corporate banking for the past 18 years, Mamun has excelled in driving business expansion initiatives, managing crucial corporate partnerships, and spearheading strategic business growth endeavors.
Mamun holds a master’s degree in economics from the University of Dhaka and an MBA with a finance major from North South University.
