“Bangladeshi Universities Ordered to Provide Free Wi-Fi”

-

The University Grants Commission (UGC) in Bangladesh has mandated all public and private universities to promptly establish complimentary Wi-Fi services. As per an official statement, universities must aim to achieve full Wi-Fi coverage within student-centric zones like libraries, common areas, and dining spaces within a span of 60 working days. The Bangladesh Research and Education Network (bdREN) is set to offer technical assistance for this endeavor. This directive was established during a meeting at the UGC office on March 25, with plans to progressively extend the initiative to encompass student dormitories and additional educational and research amenities.
