Nvidia and Thinking Machines Lab, an artificial intelligence startup founded by former OpenAI chief technology officer Mira Murati, have revealed a multiyear strategic partnership. The collaboration aims to implement over one gigawatt of cutting-edge computing systems.
Under this agreement, Nvidia’s Vera Rubin platform will back Thinking Machines in their frontier model training and development of adaptable AI systems. The deployment is slated for early next year. Furthermore, the partnership seeks to create training and serving systems tailored for Nvidia architectures and enhance AI model accessibility for businesses, research institutions, and the scientific community.
In addition to the partnership, Nvidia has made a substantial undisclosed investment in Thinking Machines Lab to bolster the company’s long-term expansion. Murati, who co-established Thinking Machines post her tenure at OpenAI, emphasized the pivotal role of Nvidia’s technology in the company’s operations. Nvidia’s official statement highlights the partnership’s objective of propelling research and infrastructure to construct AI systems that are comprehensible, customizable, and collaborative.
