“Deadly Attacks in Pakistan: 14 Security Personnel, 3 Civilians Killed”

-

Officials reported that in northwest Pakistan, at least 14 security personnel and three civilians, including a child, were killed in two bomb attacks and a gunfight between police and militants.

These incidents occurred in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Monday, resulting in numerous injuries. This violence adds to the ongoing challenges faced by Pakistan’s security forces as they combat escalating insurgencies along the Afghan border in southern and northern provinces.

Earlier this month, the Islamic State (IS) group claimed responsibility for a significant suicide bombing at a Shia mosque in Islamabad, which claimed the lives of 31 individuals and left 169 others wounded.

According to a military statement and a security official, the recent attacks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa specifically targeted a checkpoint and a police station.

It was reported that militants used an explosive-laden vehicle to breach a wall near a checkpoint in Bajaur district, resulting in the deaths of 11 security personnel and a young girl, as announced by the military.
